Testimonials
A few words from VĪV Mental Health founder,
“I don’t have to know you to care about you” is a very meaningful mantra for me. I love the idea that compassion is this limitless resource we all have access to, a printable currency that we’re able to spend on anyone without reservation. It became the ethos that drives every initiative, every program, and every innovation at VĪV.
The name “VĪV” is derived from (and rhymes with) the words “survive” and “revive“, representing two of the most important pillars in my personal journey. My lived experiences became catalysts for launching VĪV Mental Health. “They gave your story a purpose,” a friend once said to me. “Purpose and passion”.
I have endured many challenges throughout my life, but I did not survive them alone. At some point along the way – often at many points – there were people who supported me, showed compassion, and perhaps most importantly, offered the gifts of safety and opportunity. Opportunities to feel safe healing, growing, trying, and sometimes failing. To not only heal, but to emerge from the process even stronger. Better than we were before. What a gift indeed.
I have seen – and experienced myself – the cracks in our support systems, the gaps in communication, the silent struggles, and the cries for help. I’ve witnessed the hesitancy to engage in difficult-yet-necessary conversations about mental health and well-being. It’s clear that change and innovation aren’t just needed – they’re imperative. Our passion for mental health comes with a palpable urgency and conviction. Whether it’s revolutionizing workplace cultures, building better leaders, innovating our approach to mental health training, connecting with students and teachers, or using arts and digital media as tools for engagement, we are constantly evolving to meet the growing needs of our communities.
Our team is deeply committed to leading VĪV in a way that embodies our core belief: that everyone deserves to be supported with compassion and dignity, and be provided with accessible resources that are as resilient and adaptable as the people we aim to support.
It takes a village. Thank you for helping us build one.
In gratitude,
